How Empaths and Highly Sensitive People can Benefit from Being near Water

Many people find water as something relaxing, calming and refreshing. Rivers, oceans, lakes, and streams are preferred places to vacation and travel around the world. Waterfront houses also represent special and favorite places around the world.

For people who are empathic or sensitive to energy, the impulse to water becomes more intense, it’s like calling them a certain way.

Empaths feel a magnetic attraction to water, and this is related to energy. In general, nature helps people understand negative energy, keeping them grounded. When we feel stressed or depressed, walking in nature can cheer us up.

For an empath, there is a deeper relationship with nature that is almost inexplicable. In fact, it is a yearning or desire that he or she cannot ignore. The energy of nature is better tied with the energy of empaths, so this connection calls us frequently.

For empaths, nature is more than just a place to relax. Nature is therapeutic and healing. In addition, the water has an especially special pull, being the source of rest, great comfort and much more. Spending time or rather, living near water can have many benefits for empaths.

These are the five ways that sensitive people benefit from living near rivers, oceans, lakes, and streams:

1. Cleaning.

Water can be used for cleaning. It can clean people’s bodies, but also their energies. Immersing oneself in the body of water means cleaning the vibrations of people’s negative energies and restoring them to the state of harmony and balance.

For empaths, this is very important since negative energy can drain them and even cause them physical or emotional health problems.

2. Balancing chakras.

Water flow can balance people’s chakras. In fact, the chakras are the energy points in the body. They are energies of light, and each of them has a different color. There are seven chakras, and when they are balanced, their colors become clear, and all the chakras turn clockwise harmoniously.

Chakras can become unbalanced every day, and that can have a considerable effect on the well-being of empaths, especially those who are sensitive to energy. Large bodies of water will restore energy balance in a similar way to healing energy.

3. Detoxification (using saltwater).

For each body, salt represents an agent for detoxification. Usually, we release the physical toxins from our body naturally through sweat, while releasing emotional toxins from our body, through tears.

To release toxins, we can immerse ourselves in a sea salt bath, or use an exfoliation with sea salt. The oceans are like a huge salt bath. When combined with the salt that is present in our air, it will offer fascinating detoxifying qualities with which nothing can be compared.

4. Healing crystals.

The sand on the beaches that are close to the oceans, rivers or lakes, has some healing properties. In fact, each grain looks like a small healing crystal.

Therefore, covering the bare parts of our body in the sand, particularly the feet, will help us recharge the root chakra or also increase energy. The sand can also return us to a more childish and playful state, it will help us raise our vibrations or remember our state of being calm.

5. We are the water ourselves.

One of the main reasons why every human being is deeply connected with water will be the reality that says that human bodies contain 50 percent water or more for adults.

Well, empaths are naturally more aware of their bodies, so their bodily needs are going to crave and desire. People’s bodies have to join with water for healing and reparative purposes. Water literally attracts an empathic when their bodies really need it.
