It is wonderful to think that the Universe is not random and that we are here, now with a specific mission to accomplish before returning to our “home”.
Some are aware that their lives have a definite meaning and live to improve the world and those who populate it.
“If I saw farther it was because I stood on the shoulders of giants.”
~ Isaac Newton
But then what must we do to achieve our ‘mission’ here on earth? First of all, understanding what it is and the questions are a very powerful tool.
Here is how to proceed with the exercise:
- Take a pen and paper and a stopwatch
- Read, write and answer one question at a time
- For each question you have 80 seconds
Here are the 11 questions:
1. What makes you happy?
This is a nice simple question, although it is sometimes difficult to answer. What makes you really happy? For example, does your current job make you happy? Or is it simply a means of making money?
2. What do you want to do?
Is there anything you want to do, but you think you can’t? Is there anything else you’d rather do than now? What would you do if money wasn’t a problem?
3. What makes you lose track of time?
What do you like so much to do, that the hours fly by and you never have enough time to invest in this activity?
4. What are you very good at?
What do you do naturally? Are you a leader? A good speaker? Are you good at listening and giving advice? You’re good at maths? Is there anything you excel at? Discovering your talent can create the change you are looking for.
5. On which aspects do you attract trust?
Is there anything that people have always asked you for help? Perhaps this will tell you what you should do in your life.
6. What are your values?
Is there a cause that aligns with your values and beliefs? Abandoned animals, poverty, inequality, war, famine, sustainable energy. Perhaps it is here where you will find your calling.
7. What are you willing to fight for?
What are you willing to face and overcome obstacles with perseverance and determination?
8. What are you willing to sacrifice?
Are you willing to give up the time you have for a bigger purpose? Personal reports? Children? Pets? Money? How much are you willing to sacrifice to get what you believe can change all your life and the lives of those around you?
9. What blocks you?
What is it that prevents you from following your dreams? Is it just fear? What exactly prevents you from reaching the goal of your life
10. What do you want to be remembered for?
Most of us live and die in the shadows. But if you were to be remembered by humanity and history, what would you like to be remembered for?
11. If you died tomorrow, what would you be sorry for not having done?
If today you find out that tomorrow you will die and have a chance to make one last wish before you die, what would it be? Is there anything you think you left unfinished?
