As we draw closer to the end of the year, many of us reflect on the past year and look forward to 2022. And while it can be overwhelming to think about the changes ahead, so much good awaits us all as we let go of 2021 and say hello to 2022.
At the end of 2021, Jupiter will enter Pisces, where it will remain for most of next year. For this reason, we are going to feel drawn to exploring our own beliefs and how they help and hinder us. Next year we can expect some major changes to occur that will disrupt our core belief systems.

We will see Jupiter separating from Saturn for the first time in a long time.
Jupiter is the planet of expansion, beliefs, and understanding, while Saturn represents authority, structure, and discipline. When these two planets came together, many of us felt stuck, stagnant, and maybe even a little radical.
Now that they are going their separate ways, we can expect a more open mindset on a global scale. At the start of the year, Venus will be retrograde, prompting us to explore love, self-esteem, and how we show and receive love.
It can cause many of us to reconsider our relationships, especially those in toxic or one-sided unions. Also, many can look back on past relationships, which I suggest avoiding, as this will almost always provide a recipe for disaster. Mercury will retrograde four times during the year:
- January 14-February 3
- May 10-June 3
- September 9-October 2
- December 29-January 18 (2023)
We will also have four eclipses during 2022:
First, a Solar Eclipse on April 30, in the sign of Taurus, which will be followed by a Lunar Eclipse on May 16 in Scorpio. Then on October 25, we will have another Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, followed by a Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on November 8.
These eclipses will be correlated with each other, creating a cycle of transformation and fated change. Taurus energy will collide with Scorpio energy, producing a powerful dynamic that is sure to rock our entire lives, but it doesn’t have to be disastrous for us. On the contrary, this should be amazing.

Later in the year, in October, Mars will also go retrograde:
This will cause us to be challenged in our motivation as well as our physical drive. Mars is a planet that rules action, as well as physical love, so during this time, we may feel less motivated and less inclined to take physical action.
Take this as an opportunity to focus on intimacy versus pleasure and to focus on your emotional needs.
Needless to say, we can expect a lot of transformations and changes over the course of 2022, and possibly an increase in our ability to achieve a more abundant life. Do not take these transits for granted, as each offers a window of opportunity to grow and evolve in our spiritual journey. While we can often be afraid of change, doing so will hinder our growth.
