1. Cut the people in your life who are using you.

If someone always takes but never gives, you must take him out of your life.
2. Let go of emotions and energies that do not belong to you.
Before going indoors each evening, sit on your porch and meditate if possible. Let go of everything you have absorbed during your day. Bring only the emotions that belong to you.
3. Watch your thoughts carefully.
If you do not want your body to be fertile ground for negative energies, you must also get rid of your negative thoughts. Learn to be more positive. See everything from the most positive aspect possible.
4. Take time for yourself.
Spend time recharging and if you need to step back and breathe, do it. Only time is essential for all empathic healers.
5. Make your limits known.
Set boundaries in yourself for others and the things you absorb. Make these limits known and do not cross them. Hold on to your weapons.
6. Become aware of what is happening.
Remember that what you feel is not yours. Be aware of your gift and learn how to use it. Give up those emotions, feel them for a moment, then release them.

7. Share with others.
When you feel really depressed, let someone else be there for you. Learn to open up and do it. You have a support system, but it’s not always you who should use it.
