How the Karma of Our Past Lives can Affect Our Present Life

Karma means action in Sanskrit, the ancient language used by Hindus for rituals, and the writing of their sacred texts. However, religion has added a deeper meaning to karma. The concept also talks about the consequences that a specific action can have.

Many have come to view karma as a punishment. But in fact, even if we look at the expanded meaning of karma, we will see that it is not a punishment. On the contrary, karma is like a lesson in life offered through direct experience.

Karma in spirituality:

When we talk about karma in our spiritual side, it refers to the fruits that we have cultivated based on our actions in this life as well as the collection of experiences from our past lives.

Due to the existence of our past lives, we all have at least some sort of karmic consequence that is within us. This postponed karma is exactly why there is a need for reincarnation, we are born again to become wiser, to learn, and to resolve what we failed to do in the previous life.

Karmic diseases:

Karmic diseases are certain effects that occur in our body on the emotional, physical, and mental side due to the presence of past life consequences. Think about it from the point of view of normal diseases.

When we are sick, it is because of a virus or other external factors. Now, from a karmic perspective, illness is usually internal and can occur on a subconscious level. Let’s say you were poor in your previous life. Due to the transfer of your karma, even if you are rich now, you will be a little miserly.

It is because you are aware that any misstep can bring you and your family to a state you were once in, in the past. While these types of effects aren’t bad for you, karmic illnesses can be both positive and negative.

Negative karmic diseases:

If you have had negative experiences in the past, you will end up collecting a lot of negative karma. It can be bad for you as it will eventually become an obstacle in your spiritual evolution and you will fail to bask in divine light and help yourself.

Usually, negative karma adds up when you have had negative interactions with certain people in the past. The human factor is important when negative karma is concerned. For example, if you have carried an excessive burden of guilt in your past life, you will end up apologizing all the time and crying for no reason.

This is because the guilt has become part of your subconscious. Likewise, if you have been the victim of fraud or abuse in the past, you are probably an expert at hiding your feelings. This leads to depression and panic attacks and can even have a bad turn into tumors and cancers.

Karmic diseases that are involuntary:

Sometimes certain karmic diseases affect us because of our passivity in our past actions. When something like this takes place, our body ends up hurting itself. These are some things that can happen due to accidents or trauma in the past.

Passive observations can lead to myopia in our later lives. If we have seen some kind of evil happening and we have not acted against it, then myopia can occur. This is because when we see something happening and we do not act, our eye ends up collecting a lot of negative vibrations. It is the karma of injustice that accompanies you even in your next life.
