There are people in this world who are really awakened, that is obvious, but unfortunately, there are not many. For some reason, we have an abundance of those who want to pretend to be awakened but still refuse to see the light.
Now, when it comes time to tell these false gurus from the real thing, you must also know where you are spiritually. If you are not centered on your being, you will fall victim to those who simply wish to take advantage of you.

1. They know that there are different paths to enlightenment.
Those who are really awakened will not push you to follow the path that they followed. They know that everyone has to go their own way. False teachers will give you a “quick wake up program” and try to put it in your throat.
Have you ever heard “trust me if you do it this way, you will become enlightened”? It’s a bunch of lies.
2. They live their best life.
Those who are really awakened are happy and satisfied with who they are and where they live.
They know their purpose and do not complain like false people do. They are more mature and anchored in life.
3. They teach love and freedom at a real level.
True awakened people do not teach you that you must stay with them or “under their wing”. They know that you must follow your own path if that is your goal.
True teachers are generous but will not be taken for granted. You can come and go as you please if you do what you are supposed to do and respect them.

4. They do not want your money.
False teachers will charge you a lot of money and give you little in return. They want everything they can get and do not care where you end up.
They do not care about your spiritual journey because theirs is wrong anyway.
5. They are ready to be criticized.
Those who are really awakened will not shut up or get angry when you criticize them. They know that even they are not perfect. We all have room to grow.
6. They will not rush you through things.
True awakened individuals know that everyone does things at their own pace. Some will awaken faster than others. That’s how the universe works.
Those who are falsy awakened will always push you and try to convince you that you are doing better than you really are.

7. They are neither selfish nor materialistic.
Those who are really awakened are willing to give of themselves in a way that is unlike anything.
Those who are false teachers are greedy and they often do not help others as they should. True teachers will be there when you need them, false teachers will ignore your calls.
